In this project, I learned how to use oil pastels to create 3D shapes. I enjoyed working with oil pastels because I liked the texture that it gave to the piece of art. I created value by blending and overlapping the oil pastels together. Overlapping is important because it can create different shades of colors and eliminate a distinct line between two colors. The direction I made my light source coming from was around the left side of the shapes. Value is important because it shows the whether the subject has volume or is flat, what kind of texture the surface has, and where the light source is located and how bright it is.
